About Getachew M. Kassa
I have been working in the field of music education for over 25 years in the United States and Ethiopia. I have a strong educational background. I have a Master of Fine Arts degree and a Degree of Perfection.
The Mind Institute certifies me to teach their music & math program. In addition I have a site supervisor permit from the California State Commission on Teacher Credentialing in child development.
My personal philosophy has evolved through my involvement in music education, teaching in private and public institutions, teaching typically developing children and individuals with special needs from 3 years to adulthood.
My goal as a music teacher is to equip each child with skills leading to meaningful musical performance and discriminating listening.
Children will participate in an annual recital.
About G & V Music Private Studio
G & V Music private piano studio is located in Highland Park on the corner of Holland Avenue & Aldama Street. Street parking is available. The Studio has two different rooms. One room is equipped with a beautiful K. Kawai Baby Grand piano, an upright piano, keyboards, & a drum set. The second room, the Family Room, is where the family can relax and wait for their music student during the music lesson.
There is an extensive lending library of teaching materials and many creative teaching aids. We also have a Mac Desktop, Mac Book Pro Laptop, & 2 Verizon tablets that are used during lessons. Our Studio is also equipped with a high quality projector and screen.
